Turnitin, an assignment originality tool available to all instructors at Meredith, has responded to concern about the use of artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled writing tools like ChatGPT by adding an AI checker to its Feedback Studio product. Any assignment that a Meredith instructor has enable Turnitin for will automatically check for AI generated text, with no extra steps required. Please note that unlike Originality Reports, students are unable to view the AI checker report at this time.
Turnitin has created many resources for instructors on both Turnitin’s AI detecting feature, including information on false positive results, and best practices for assignment design in the age of ChatGPT.
